My Perfect Story - About Us
At ‘My Perfect Story’ we have evolved the concept of putting the reader into the story by not only ‘writing’ the child into the text but also depicting them in the illustration. This means that text and illustration work together as they should – each supporting the other to make the reading experience as rewarding as possible.
Our books are designed for a crucial period in the reading lives of children, from their first year in infant’s school right up to their first attendance at junior school. This is a time when lifetime attitudes to reading are established.
Children whose reading experience has been forced are much less likely to pursue reading either for pleasure or learning into adulthood. Conversely, children who have learned the pleasure of reading and actively seek to do so will maintain that attitude when it counts – in the years when academic attainment can make a difference to the rest of their lives.
